Hi,
I'm sorry I write this as a comment, but I couldn't find an email address.

I am trying to learn Korean online and offline and found this site. But it's kind of hard to see how it works. How can the stuff that you post here help me? Of course, I realize that part of the problem is that you mix English and Korean, and I don't read Korean yet.

Under "Using this site" you write:

"There are five RSS feeds available in kangmi: kangmi, Korea, Repertoire, Resources, and Supermemo."

I do use Bloglines and would love to subscribe to one or all of these, but again it is hard to know what's what. What exactly is kangmi? And what is the difference between Repertoire and Resources? etc.

I hope you don't take this as nitpicking or criticism - I'm just kinda desperate for help and frustrated by tons of googling... :-)

"kangmi" is the personal blog section of this site, in which I write about my Korean studies. Sometimes I actually write about the Korean language, although I haven't much lately, as it takes more time than I have at the moment.

Float your cursor over any menu item, and you'll get an English label for that section.

Except for kangmi, I recomment caution in subscribing to any of the other RSS feeds here. I've had problems with them, and I continue to work with Bloglines to get them resolved.

The 리소스 (Resources) section of the site includes links to learning Korean online (a few offline resources are listed, too, with more to come). That's the most useful part of the site for Korean learners. In your case, you might want to start with the section called "Cracking the 한글 Code." All of those links will help you to learn the Korean alphabet. The Sogang University site is currently my top recommendation.

You'll find that learning the Korean alphabet is really as easy as they say it is.

The Repertoire section is just vocabulary that I'm learning. That section feeds the random word at the top of each page.

Good luck!
