8급 한자

I’ve just uploaded the file that contains the 50 한자 in the eighth (yet first) level of 한자 learning.

The file and its caveats are available in the 수퍼매모 section.

Hey, Kangmi:

Thanks for the link to the Naver Hanja dictionary sorted by levels: that's absolutely priceless! Somehow, the basic division in 옥편 into 900 중학용 and 900 고학용 hanja has never been very useful for me....

From all appearances, Naver (or whoever they're licensing from) continues to improve its hanja dictionary. The levels were added within the last few months.

Well, It's pretty darn good, though I can't say if it's improved or not. But they allow searches for 한자어 (not just individual 한자); searches on 훈; etc....yeah, I'm pretty impressed with it, too....

Yup, I also noticed that the Chinese-Korean sub-dictionary at Naver is excellent !

Nice link. I wish I had such nice tools when I was a kid learning 漢字. You *don't* want to see my cram cards [I don't either :-P].
One day, Oranckay was visiting in my office, and showed me old 漢字 study cards made by Protestant missionaries, prolly in the Century before last. They were very nice, old but still legible. Oranckay takes one out, randomly, and *D'uh* a sinogram neither he or I had ever seen. Hurts like hell!
[self-promotion]If you have a Mac, check out Tomabaem at http://sungnyemun.org/?q=node/4 If not, there's a lesser online version. It's more cross-language oriented, aka CJKV, and limited to characters (no words) but helps, I think.[/self-promotion]
Keep up the good work!

Where does Oranckay dig up all that neat old stuff? Like the old ads he puts up at the top of his blog....

"One day, Oranckay was visiting in my office, and showed me old 漢字 study cards made by Protestant missionaries, prolly in the Century before last."

I think they were produced in the 50's. Back when you still needed to know hanja to function in daily life. The name on the box cover appears to be a misspelling of the name of a man who was pres of 계명대 in the 50's so that's what I'm going on. Someday, when among other things I get my blog back working, I'll post about it with pics.

" Where does Oranckay dig up all that neat old stuff? "

An Underwood gave them too me. Where else?
